Desmos has been listed in many articles as a tool students use to help achieve a better mathematical understanding and reason more fluidly ( Eddy, Colleen M Pratt, Sarah S Green, Cheyenne N. Desmos can start to blend concepts and create connections for learners at all different levels in a variety of ways. One such tool proposed is a tool called Desmos. There are many tools to make connections and help with higher level thinking in a math class and many ways to move forward with this objective. If a learner is able to understand why they are learning the concepts and are able to make connections to other subjects or previous material, students can start to critically think and begin to appreciate all of the complex ins and outs of the mathematical world and the world around them. This being the case then and still now to many, making connections in a math class can be pivotal and extremely important. It is not a secret many people hear the word “math” and start to shudder remembering countless days of memorization and head pounding. The R stands for resources, I for infrastructure, P for people, P for policies, L for learning, E for evaluation, and lastly S for support. Each letter stands for a specific aspect of this evaluation. The RIPPLES model is a framework which helps organizations, in my case my school, to successfully implement technology. My design decisions of this project were based on the RIPPLES model which I used to help evaluate the Desmos graphing calculator. The best way to do this is to be thoughtful about how you implement technology and/or resources into the organization/classroom. When designing for a corporation or educational institution or the classroom, teachers need to understand the technology they are using and how it will and could affect the learning environment. I choose this artifact because it represents an aspect of design, affordances.
